As always there will be a selection of new and secondhand instruments, reeds, accessories, CDs and sheet music available at the Double Reed Day 2015.
The vendors who have confirmed they will be attending so far are Howarth’s, Double Reed Ltd and Wonderful Winds.
Andrew Denyer of Abbey Woodwinds will be available to carry out minor repairs and advise on instrument care and maintenance.
This year’s event will be on Sunday 28th of June at Pate’s Grammar School, Cheltenham.
The visiting masters will be Melanie Ragge (Professor of Oboe, Royal Academy of Music, London) and Adam MacKenzie (Principal Bassoon, Sinfonia ViVA and English Sinfonia).
An application form is available here. There is a discount for registrations received before May 16, 2015.
The organizers would welcome any feedback about the Gloucestershire Double Reed Day 2014. Please use the drop-down menus to select your opinion of various aspects of the day.
Please note that all Masterclass slots for both oboe and bassoon have now been filled.
However, there are still places available for what promises to be an excellent day of double reed music making!
Please be advised that the oboe masterclasses for this year’s event are now fully booked. There are still a couple of places left in the bassoon masterclass.
There is still plenty of capacity at the event. We would be grateful for applications sooner rather than later as it makes organising chamber groups considerably easier and helps us get numbers for catering sorted out.
This year’s event is confirmed for Sunday June 29th at Pate’s Grammar School, Cheltenham. This is our third year at Pate’s, and the organisers are looking forward to another successful event. Many thanks to everyone who provided feedback last year. It really helps us fine tune the day so everyone gets the best possible experience.
The visiting masters will be Jenni Phillips (Head of Woodwind at Birmingham Conservatoire) and Robert Codd (former Principal Bassoon with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales).
