Please be advised that the oboe masterclasses for this year’s event are now fully booked. There are still a couple of places left in the bassoon masterclass.
There is still plenty of capacity at the event. We would be grateful for applications sooner rather than later as it makes organising chamber groups considerably easier and helps us get numbers for catering sorted out.
This year’s event is confirmed for Sunday June 29th at Pate’s Grammar School, Cheltenham. This is our third year at Pate’s, and the organisers are looking forward to another successful event. Many thanks to everyone who provided feedback last year. It really helps us fine tune the day so everyone gets the best possible experience.
The visiting masters will be Jenni Phillips (Head of Woodwind at Birmingham Conservatoire) and Robert Codd (former Principal Bassoon with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales).
An application form is now available here.
The organizers would welcome any feedback about the Gloucestershire Double Reed Day 2012. Please use the drop-down menus to select your opinion of various aspects of the day.
We are now accepting registration for this year’s event. The links above have full details and allow you to register online.
The cost is the same as last year, with discounts for bookings by April 30th.
Welcome to the Gloucestershire Double Reed Day 2013 Blog!
This year’s event is confirmed for Sunday 23rd June at Pates Grammar School, Cheltenham. This is our second time at Pates, and we are hoping to build on the success of last year’s event. The organisers would like to thank all those attendees who provided feedback on the event, and have made a number of changes as a result.
The masterclasses will be taken by Meyrick Alexander (bassoon) and Murray “Sandy” Johnston (oboe). More details on the Visiting Masters page.
Both Howarths and Wonderful Winds will be attending once again, with a selection of instruments, reeds, accessories and music. Instrument repairer Jessica Rance will be available to carry out any minor repairs.
